Giving back through teamwork: Target Physio’s unique fundraising initiative

A Bellbowrie, Queensland physiotherapy company has found a creative way to recognise its staff and give back to the community at the same time.

Target Physio‘s Most Valuable Person (MVP) initiative nominates a team member each fortnight as the ‘Most Valuable Person’. At the end of the year, the three who have received the most nominations choose a charity to receive a donation from Target Physio on their behalf.

Kath has been among the top three MVPs for the past two years. Each time, she chose the Liver Foundation as her charity. “The team at Target Physio is wonderful, and our owner came up with this idea so that we could give back to the community while also being recognised by our teammates,” Kath says. “It means a lot to be able to donate to something that is personal to my own journey.”

Having lived with autoimmune liver disease for the past 10 years, Kath knows the value of early support. “I’m a liver disease warrior who has been given a second chance, and I’m always looking to support those at the beginning of their journey,” she explains. “Liver Foundation provides support to those that need it in the early dark days.”

It’s beautiful to see how a workplace initiative can make such a meaningful difference. Kath’s story is a reminder that creative approaches to fundraising can come from anywhere—even from the place you go to work every day.
